Professional Biography

Sofia Zlatanova is an embryologist with a strong scientific interest in embryo development and the role of immunological factors in reproductive health.

She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology in 2022 and a Master’s degree in Developmental Biology in 2024 from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. During her studies, she completed internships at the Institute of Biology and Immunology of Reproduction at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, where she deepened her interest in reproductive research.

Her professional experience includes work as an embryologist at Nadezhda Hospital, where she actively participated in laboratory activities and conducted research related to her Master’s thesis.

Ms Zlatanova is co-author of a scientific publication in the international journal Genes, focusing on the morphokinetic characteristics of human embryos with chromosomal mosaicism – a topic of significant importance in contemporary embryology and IVF practice.

She is currently a PhD candidate at the Medical University of Plovdiv, with research focused on the role of immunological and inflammatory markers in reproductive disorders and their impact on fertility.

As part of the embryology team at New Life Clinic, she participates in the daily laboratory work related to embryo development and selection in IVF treatment.
