When the infertility is unexplained, a combination of methods is applied.

When a couple can not have children naturally, the reasons for this should be identified. Sometimes a minimal intervention is needed by the doctors for a baby to be born. When tests show that there is a serious problem, however, a pregnancy is usually achieved with any of the following methods:
* IVF / in vitro fertilization / — this is a classical in vitro fertilization, in which sperm finds its own way to the egg and penetrates it. –This is done when the sperm and the oocyte could not meet ( blockage of or non-existent fallopian tubes, etc.) when there are normal ejaculate parameters.

* ICSI / intracytoplasmic sperm injection / — represents the injection of sperm at the oocyte when sperm is insufficient (Oligo-Astheno-zoospermia) or there isan immunological factor and the sperm can not reach and penetrate the oocyte. Microinjection is necessary when the oocyte has a very hard shell and doesn’t let the sperm inside. In many cases of idiopathic (unexplained) infertility in the couple , combined IVF ICSI cycle is applied so the two gametes could meet.
* PESA — subcutaneous aspiration of sperm from the epididymis (a landfill, which collects mature sperm). This non-invasive procedure lasts several minutes. -when there is a blockage (obstructive Azoospermia) or after vasectomy. The sample can be frozen after aspiraqtion and thawed at a later stage, in order to inject the oocytes with it (ICSI).
* TESE — extraction of sperm after surgically taking tissue from the testicles. This is done when there is a blockage (obstructive Azoospermia) and in very severe Oligoathenozoospermia — the tissue is checked for sperm and immature spermatids. This sample can be frozen after aspiration and thawed at a later stage in order to inject the oocytes (ICSI), but in many cases survival of testicular tissue after thawing is low.
* ELSI, ROSI / elongated spermatids, round spermatid / — these are the methods of injection of immature sperm into the oocytes. It is done straight after PESA or TESE and replaces the ICSI procedure when there is no mature sperm (arrest in spermatogenesis) or insufficient number for the extracted oocytes in severe Oligoathenozoospermia.
* AH / assisted hatching / — A small opening is made in the envelope of the developing embryo, which contributes to its possible implantation in a later stage. This is done only when there is very thick shell of the embryo which prevents the \»hatching\» . It is made Routinely and for pre-implantation diagnosis.
* AD / assisted defragmentation / — preceded by AH and is made in cases where embryos are not developing well and form a large percentage of fragments (cell structures that do not contain genetic material) that interfere with fetal development.

The funds were collected at the Christmas charity exhibition organized today at the children\’s center of Mall \»Gallery\» in Plovdiv. The check will be donated on Grandmother\’s Day, January 21, 2015, when the country celebrates the Day of maternal care. The lucky ones will be determined by a draw.
The charity campaign was organized with the support of District \»South\» of Plovdiv Municipality and the mayor Valentin Vassilev. In December the team of \»New Life\» announced among children from kindergartens in the area a children\’s drawing contest with theme \»My family\». Over 150 works were submitted to the center for the noble cause.
The children\’s center in the mall was full with kids, their parents and grandparents who were there for the Christmas party.The young artists whose paintings were already put up in a special exhibition, eagerly looked for their drawings in order to be photographed in front of them like true artists.

Once the children discovered their drawings, they eagerly started waiting for Santa Claus. \»Santa Claus! All kids received from Santa Claus and Snow White a sketchbook and markers with a wish to develop their talent as artists, and also many sweets. Then the kids rushed to play with the toys in the children\’s playground.

At the same time parents were looking at the drawings and bid for the best works, and the charming employees of the center Danny and Maggie could barely write off the sold works. When the work finished, and Father Christmas brought joy to every child, the hosts of \»New Life\» gave the kids a huge white cake, lit by fireworks.
Great celebration, the children are so happy – they met Santa, received gifts and most importantly their talent was appreciated, thanked the parents and asked when will the next celebration be.

With the help of a draw the financial aid, raised during a charity concert organized by Dr Hristo Adjarov Centre in Plovdiv, will be allocated to help couples with fertility problems. Vera Vuldjeva, the regional coordinator of I WANT A BABY Foundation, announced that the draw will be held on December 21. In the fundraising campaign, which goal is to help patients have children, participated the latest IVF center in the country — «New Life». Through I WANT A BABY Foundation, the management of the clinic donated two procedures — donor insemination and partner insemination. The charity event took place in «Bulgaria» Hall of the Congress Center in the International Fair and was attended by the gynecologist and director of the «New Life» Dr. Dobrinka Petrova. The concert featured Women\’s Choir «Trimontium», Male choir «Stefka Blagoeva», Preparatory Choir of Plovdiv boys, Dance ensemble «Iglika» and dance club «Siana Dance». They sang and danced in front of a huge audience, which has led the organizers to expect that more than 10,000 BGN would be raised – these funds would be donated to the I WANT A BABY Foundation and would be used for patients from Plovdiv. From Monday — November 3, all who wish to take advantage of the opportunities the Fund gives can contact \»New Life\». Applications must be prepared by the in vitro center. The fund finances up to 3 attempts at in vitro fertilization for a couple with up to 5,000 BGN per attempt. Those who do not know whether they meet the criteria can schedule a consultation with the specialists at the clinic who will explain and give instructions for completing the forms. Prof. Laufer, how you summarize the \»Health situation\» after the team of \»New Life\» consulted such a serious number of couples with fertility problems?

— What I saw as a trend, it is the age of the couples who came to us. In Bulgaria, as in Europe, young women are involved in creating of career and their profession. So they postpone having children. As a result we have reduced success rate of assisted reproductive procedures.
Presenting this picture, we can say that the ratio between women and men with fertility problems is equal.
